Chances are, you or someone close to you is elderly or has a disability. And if not, you likely know someone caring for a loved one who is. If you are one of those people, then this website is for you.

One person in five in our community will experience a disability during his or her lifetime that will make some activity of daily living difficult. One family in three will need to provide care for a loved one. Most of us have questions about health and wellness, about preserving our independence and planning for our future.

If you are a regular visitor to our website,  you probably noticed the recent changes we have made to the format.  We have added some features that make the site easier to read and easier to navigate.  We have revised formats to make the information easier to search from your favorite web browser, and we are adding content and features to better address the issues and concerns of older adults, persons with disabilities, family member, caregivers and providers of services.

CICOA’s mission is to help enable older persons and those of any age with a disability to enjoy the greatest possible independence, dignity and quality of life. We do this through a variety of programs and services that include home-delivered meals, transportation, home health services, information and assistance, community outreach and respite for caregivers. These services are provided through a network of agencies, volunteers and service groups across central Indiana.

Incorporated in 1974, CICOA is a not-for-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Services are funded through federal, state, local, public and private funds and the support of the CICOA Foundation.
