What is a County Council on Aging?

CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions has established local, independent councils on aging in each of the eight counties it serves. Each council is comprised of dedicated volunteers who help define the problems and needs of older Hoosiers in their county and identify solutions.

Membership:

Membership is free and open to anyone or any organization that has a sincere interest in the welfare and well-being of older adults in Hendricks County.

JOIN and--

• share your opinions and concerns
• learn about issues that affect you, your friends or loved ones
• experience activities and events that enrich the lives of others

Meetings:

For 2012, bi-monthly meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Hendricks County Senior Center, 1201 Sycamore Lane, Danville, IN.  Following each meeting, lunch is served compliments of Countryside Meadows.  The dates and topics this year are:

• February 28 - senior services and programs of CICOA
• April 24 - avoiding and preventing scams
• June 26 - Project Lifesaver
• August 28 - Q & A on social security, elder law, and legislation affecting seniors
• October 23 - managing medication and prescription costs
• December - date not set for a Christmas party
